It was about being told a machine needed a part it didn't need, or being quoted after the work was already done, or being sold a repair on an appliance that should have been replaced.

So the business runs on three commitments that are easy to state and easy to hold us to. Diagnostic fee credited to your repair. You get the price before any work starts. And if we think the repair isn't worth doing, we say so — even though saying so costs us the job.

That last one comes up more than you'd think. A twelve-year-old washer with a failed sealed-tub bearing is not worth repairing, and we would rather lose that call than take your money for a fix that buys you a year.

Every technician on the team is certified in appliance repair and refrigeration, and has come through a recognised training programme rather than learning on your machine. That matters most on the diagnosis: the difference between a fan motor and a sealed-system fault is the difference between a modest repair and a write-off, and getting it wrong in either direction costs you money.

We're insured, we work on gas as well as electric, and we carry the parts that fail most often so the majority of jobs finish in the same visit.
